Dear,
I felt sorrow for your little boy suffering such kind of myopic degeneration and live with a life of physical activities hindrance.
I guessed your son had use the glasses very often for reading in the past years.

Because the distance between you and me, I can only say you must think about relaxation of your kid's eyes in reading and writting.
I strongly recommended you to visit the site www.geocities.com/dolphinhill/theorynotes.htm for details in near point stress relaxation with the use of plus lens.
Please remember, the stronger minus glasses you used for reading, the myopia deterioates more faster!

Subject: Myopia Control

Dear Mr. Leung,

Uncertain whether this is the right
address to ask for advice, we,
my wife and I, have to try
everything we can.
We have found your reference on the
internet <www.myopia.org>,
where we have also found your e-mail
address.
We are from Ljubljana, Slovenia
(former Yugoslavia), Central Europe.
Our son Mark has got high myopia
(Dg.: Myopia alta omlinte.).
Otherwise his eyes are healty (no
astigmatism).
He is 9 years old, turning 10 at the
end of September.
We are worried because his condition
is getting worse.
In the last two years myopia has
made progress from
about -3 to about -8
(Right eye: sph -8.25 cyl -0.25x78
reflex 143.16 vertex 13.50,
Left eye: sph -7.75 cyl -1.00x72
reflex 252.39 vertex 13.50).
Our doctor says that his condition
will continue to deteriorate
until he is about 18 years old.
Owing to retina resignation danger
he has advised very limited physical
activities. He is also against
the use of contact lenses and has
prescribed bilberry tablets.
The doctor says that apart from
changing lenses in his glasses
a few times a year there is nothing
anyone can do about it.
We can only wait.

Naturally, we wonder if there is
really nothing what we can do.
Because if this is so, Mark will
become practically blind in
the next few years.

Could you please suggest what we can
do to control myopia?
Is it really necessary to restrict
physical activity?
What is your opinion about using
contact lenses (RGP)?
Can Mark use the Myopter Viewer
(U.S. Patent 3,883,225)?
Thank you for your time. And thank
you so much for your professional
advice.
Yours faithfully,

Katalin and Davor Munda
